Dee is a Licensed Cosmetologist with over 30+ years of experience in the DMV (D.C. Maryland Virginia) area, specializing in natural hair care and chemical treated styles. Born and raised in Maryland, she was introduced to sewing in her teenage years during Home Economics at Oxon Hill Middle School, while also learning from her Grandmother. 

Without attending any fashion schools, Dee is primarily a self-taught sewer. She enjoys reading designer books and often picks up different techniques from YouTube. In 2015, she reignited her passion for sewing when she purchased Mimi G. Styles' tutorial on how to sew a Regal Maxi Skirt w/Sash, and she became hooked. 

When the pandemic hit in 2020, she paused her hair braiding and styling services to focus on her sewing. Since then, she has actively engaged with the sewing community on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. In 2023, she decided to learn how to draft clothing patterns online at the Pattern Making Academy (PMA) by Mimi G. Styles, taught by Tricia 'The Pattern Nerd.' Once she mastered pattern drafting, she taught herself how to Pattern Grade in 2024, allowing her creations to be worn by others.
